Sarah and Cody’s wedding was gorgeously held at the Umbrella Bar at Dows Lake Ottawa.

I have met Sarah through church and immediately bonded over our love for photography. It was an honour to have been apart of their wedding was an incredible opportunity.

Sarah and Cody are a testament that long-distance with a lot of trust and commitment can make a relationship stronger.

WEDDING TIP:

I highly encourage couples to make their wedding unique to who they are. Not what your guest might enjoy or what your parents want. It’s about you two, your love and commitment to each other.

As you start or in the process of planning a wedding day: don’t forget that it’s your wedding day and no one else. do what makes the most sense to you two

A few of the things that made Sarah and Cody added to make their wedding day more personalize to them:

Sarah and Cody wrote personalize letters to read before the ceremony. They knocked it off the park with the wedding party gifts! (scroll down to see more) I am all about customized gifts to each individual, it shows that you care and have put thought into the gift.

Sarah had always dreamt of having her uncle as their wedding officiant. Having him fly across Canada to be apart of the day made it extra special. Another person that was apart of the wedding was Cody’s favourite uncle (his words) MC the reception.

Throughout the reception we laughed, we cried and then we laughed some more, during the beautifully written speeches. I am a sucker for sappy, roast worthy speeches. Last but not the least, instead of having your regular seating plan, they opted to let people just mingle and seat wherever they wanted to.

I am blessed to have the honour of capturing such a heartwarming wedding day at the Umbrella Bar Ottawa at Dows Lake. It was filled with a whole lot of family, friends, love, laughter, tears and God.
