I'm a wedding photographer based in Ottawa Ontario, but travels worldwide. My photography approach is intentional, honest and editorial. An organic approach to capture fleeting moments. This blog lives to inspire your wedding photos and provide you planning tips.
Gatineau Park is the perfect place to get your fall engagement pictures. Fall is arguably the best season in my books. With the leaves changing creating vibrant warm colour and not to mention no more sweating through my shirt.
Yuko, Joseph and I planned to meet at Gatineau Park before sunrise for their fall engagement pictures shoot. Little did we know that the park gates would be close for roller skiing. If you are like us and had no idea what the heck that is, it’s literally a mix of rollerblades and skiing. crazy! It was definitely my first time seeing that.
We wanted to get at the location by sunrise, to get the golden glow that makes everyone look good. Here’s how I think of it…
Golden Glow (Sunset or Sunrise) = Beautiful Skintone = beautiful couple photo
Sometimes unexpected things will come before your engagement that’s to be expected. Instead of rescheduling I pulled over the side of the road and looked for a different trail that is accessible.
When one door closes another one opens. I am happy to say that despite the little inconvenience everything turned out 110% way better than I could have imagined.
If this did not happen we wouldn’t have found the location of the photo below! My jaw drops when I found this magical spot, with the tip of the grass still frosted from the night’s cold weather and the sunrise glow just over the horizon illuminating the whole scenery.
Embrace the unexpected as you walk through life because what might seem like a huge disaster can be a blessing in disguise.
