I'm a wedding photographer based in Ottawa Ontario, but travels worldwide. My photography approach is intentional, honest and editorial. An organic approach to capture fleeting moments. This blog lives to inspire your wedding photos and provide you planning tips.
Indoor Motherhood sessions has slowly become one of my favourite to photograph. There is something so special about capturing your family growing in the comfort of your home. To document you in a space where new first and memories will be created.
I have meet Katie and Mathieu at a a couple of weddings I have shot at as a guest. It was so exciting to see a familiar face reach out on instagram. This is her first pregnancy and you can just tell her excitement as we start to plan for her motherhood photoshoot.
Katie was a little concerned for Mathieu since he was nervous to get his photos taken. This is very common but I reassured them both that this is going to be super fun and laid back. I honestly think they both killed it, but you can be the judge of that.
Here are a few tips on planning your motherhood photoshoot:
Best time to get your maternity photo taken:
The start of your third trimester, around 30 to 36 weeks into your pregnancy. During this time you are still fairly comfortable and your baby bump will start to be nice and round. Scheduling too close to your due date, you might feel uncomfortable and tired. This also brings in the unexpected early arrival.
What to wear:
First off all I want for you is to be comfortable but I know how hard it is when you are pregnant and carrying another person in your belly. There are a few options, my personal favourites are flowy dresses, unbotton jeans with a plain black or white bra and undies with an oversize cardigan. When it comes to colours, I’m a neutral and floral pattern kind of gal.

These moments are fleeting let me capture them for you holler at me.
