I'm a wedding photographer based in Ottawa Ontario, but travels worldwide. My photography approach is intentional, honest and editorial. An organic approach to capture fleeting moments. This blog lives to inspire your wedding photos and provide you planning tips.
Two years prior to their wedding, Yuko got in touch with me for a fall session at Gatineau Park. It is by far my favourite fall session! We woke up super early and were blessed with the most magical frosty morning. I can’t even explain how stunning it was – so you’ll just have to check it out for yourself! When it came time for them to find a photographer for their Ottawa wedding, I was beyond thrilled they asked me – and of course said yes! Yuko had the most beautiful Anthopologie dress with classic, 1950s style details. After exchanging vows on a bridge overlooking the river in a small town bordering Ottawa, they celebrated with close friends and family.
In between their engagement session and wedding, a lot had happened (aka, covid). Fast forward two years, and I was so beyond excited to see them both again. After tying the knot on a bridge overlooking the Mississippi River, their close family showered them with confetti.
We spent time exploring the town of Carleton Place. I love when small towns decorate their main roads, since it was closer to Halloween they had Spider-Man on the light post (if you found it in their photos, you get a congratulatory wink).

Fall is by far one of the best seasons, don’t fight me on this. The changing leaves, the escape from the summer heat to cooler weather… this is why it’s the most booked-up season in North America when it comes to weddings.
Tips for your Ottawa wedding in the fall:
Yuko’s Anthropologie dress had beautiful embroidery and flowy sleeves – perfect for a fall wedding. I always recommend slightly warmer attire for couples getting married in the fall. That way you don’t have to throw a heavy jacket overtop and are still comfortable.
If you’re planning a fall wedding, it’s best to lock in your main vendors a year in advance. It’s the busiest time for wedding vendors, so if you have someone in mind make sure you reach out as soon as you can!
Opt for long sleeves and flowy fabrics so you can layer and keep warm
Book your vendors asap as fall is the busiest season for wedding vendors
