I'm a wedding photographer based in Ottawa Ontario, but travels worldwide. My photography approach is intentional, honest and editorial. An organic approach to capture fleeting moments. This blog lives to inspire your wedding photos and provide you planning tips.
I met Nick and Katie at their campsite at Sharbot Lake Provincial Park. They were sitting by the campfire chilling as Freckles their Dalmatian greeted me as I step out of the car.
Meeting Nick and Katie was like seeing old friends, the conversation flowed so effortlessly. We could have sat around the campfire drinking locally brewed beer just chatting about life. It’s rare to find people that you can feel comfortable around from the get-go and once you do, you better know to keep them around.
Katie and Nick met when they were both in South America on a guided tour of Machu Pichu. How cool is that?! Nicks from Canada and Katies from New Zealand. Since moving back to Canada, they have camped all across Ontario. Nick being a paramedic and Katie’s writing blogs they had the opportunity to explore and experience different parks in Ontario using their tent trailer.
I love asking my couples what they want to convey during their engagement session.
“These photos are a snapshot of a unique time in our lives – we probably won’t stay in Canada long term, so we want to immortalize the way we’re living – going camping all the time, bringing our dog, being carefree and in love (as sappy as that sounds!)” – Katie
with that in mind, I thought it was the perfect choice to take photos of them doing what they love to do most. exploring, camping at their tent trailer and hanging out with Freckles.
I love it when we can personalize your photoshoot might this be your wedding day, engagement, vow renewal, anniversary or maternity. Photos become more meaningful when you are doing something you enjoy.
