I'm a wedding photographer based in Ottawa Ontario, but travels worldwide. My photography approach is intentional, honest and editorial. An organic approach to capture fleeting moments. This blog lives to inspire your wedding photos and provide you planning tips.
For Carley and Lee’s engagement, we decided to explore downtown Ottawa. We ended up hitting countless picturesque spots, from the Rideau Canal, Ottawa River Pathway and walking down Wellington street.
Hot Tip: When you are planning an engagement session that involves a lot of moving to a different location. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes or bring an extra pair.
The great thing about downtown Ottawa is that it has a lot of European-influenced buildings.
As for every session I always want to weave each couple’s story and personality into the photos, yes we want it to look pretty but we also want it to have a deeper meaning. During the time of this session, Carly was at school studying the law. We incorporated a few photos in front of the Supreme Court for that reason. How epic would it be for Carly to be working there one day? super cool!

Location Idea for your upcoming engagement session:
Downtown: For couples that love the urban lifestyle
Park: For couples that enjoy going on trail walks and doing outdoor activities.
In-home: If you and your partner live together, this is a great way to document you in your natural environment. The beauty of this is that it makes the shoot very personal. You two probably won’t stay at this place forever and how awesome would it be to get this season of your life documented?
If your home is not an option you can opt to go to a family cabin or rent an Airbnb!
